Synopsis 1
Perhaps everyone has another self, a completely different one, inside them.
For Chi Qinghe and Zhuang Mengdie,
that other self exists in the eyes they see each other through.
Zhuang Mengdie, the daughter of a wealthy family, meets Chi Qinghe, a poor girl.
That year, they are seven years old.
Ten years later,
when they meet again,
Chi Qinghe lives in the shadows, lost and adrift, yet radiant.
Zhuang Mengdie stands in the moonlight, clear about love and hate, yet quiet and distant.
Chi Qinghe fills Zhuang Mengdie with questions and curiosity, amazement and sorrow.
She wants to save her from danger, take her away, and help her soar.
A little scene:
"If I want to buy someone's freedom from the Changsan brothel but don't have enough money, what should I do?"
"Then don't buy her freedom. What else can you do if you don't have enough money?"
"Can't you think about it properly?"
"Then how much money do you have?"
"Two thousand five hundred yuan."
"That's not enough to buy her freedom... Wait... I've got it! You can keep her!"
"Keep her? What do you mean?"
"I mean... only let her be with you, and not with anyone else. Get it? 'Keep' is an ideogram. In small seal script, it has 'bao' on the outside and 'si' (si) in the middle. The Shuowen Jiezi explains it as 'the image of a child not yet formed,' which means the person is inside your belly and belongs to you! The Contemporary Chinese Dictionary says it means to take charge of, take full responsibility for, or monopolize. Put it all together, and it means she's yours now, and you're responsible for her!"
Synopsis 2
A strange story has come out of the Xiangshui perfume shop.
A female student has taken a female courtesan as her kept woman! Unprecedented, unheard of!
No one can make sense of it, and everyone assumes it's just another romantic affair.
Amid all the commotion, someone writes a poem in the tune of "Moon Over the West River," clear as a gentle breeze beneath the bright moon:
Though her past is disreputable, she's always been carefree. With smoky eyes and a flirtatious sway, let others laugh at me.
We passed each other when young, yet ten years of questions weigh on my heart. Now that we've met again, just watch me: I won't let her drift alone anymore.
1. The friendship between two girls in a turbulent era. Two female leads, no romance.
2. Set in the Republic of China era. I've looked up some reference materials, but please feel free to point out any errors in the text.
3. The main plot follows the two female leads as they grow up. The underlying plot explores the resentments and entanglements between two generations.
4. The first thirty chapters mainly describe each female lead's life and growth. The two leads interact more often after Chapter 30.
The story is complete, though I sometimes revise details.
Theme: A girl's growth
Dad, come back soon, I can't bear it without you.
After reading so many articles, I still miss this one (???`?)
It's so beautiful and I can't get enough of it
I hope the author can continue to update. The writing is great. I can't read it enough. I have been following it until now and found out that it has been updated. I am happy haha. But after looking at it, I realized that it has not been updated for a long time.
Wow, have you started updating again? I thought I was dazzled.
Teacher, can you do some extra stories? I'm very curious about their future~
This conversation between He and the other sisters when he came back always seemed to have a Shanghai accent (?)
"I and you will go to the dock" is a big mistake for the author~ "I will send you off", there is one missing word
Thank you to the author for the big red envelope. I feel a little excited. I finally waited until it was finished. The writing is beautiful and the people are kind. I wish all the articles written by the author will sell well. Thank you very much!!!
Wai, is the author here? I need u
