Pearl

Baozhu is the orphaned daughter of the Grand Princess of Qingyang. She has a breathtakingly beautiful face, beyond compare, but was raised in the palace and spoiled rotten by her grandmother, the Empress Dowager, and her uncle, the Emperor. Over time, she grew into a willful young woman who feared nothing.

The only exception is her royal uncle, Xiao Liting. Whenever Baozhu sees him, her face turns pale and her whole body trembles, and she flees as far away from him as possible.

Everyone says that Prince Jin, Xiao Liting, is a refined gentleman with the bearing of an immortal.

But every night, Baozhu has the same dream.

In it, the man grips her hand and pins it high above her head, his burning lips pressed to her ear as he calls her in a voice full of obsession, again and again: “A Zhu...”

It goes on without end, without pause. He is clearly a demon from the depths of hell. What part of him resembles an immortal?

After that, Baozhu resolves to find a husband and marry as soon as possible, before the man can make a move against her.

But every time, either the man calls off the engagement, or a scandal about him comes to light. One even falls seriously ill and breaks his leg. In the end, every match falls through.

One day, in an empty side hall, the man strokes her delicate, snow-white neck with his fingertip and whispers hoarsely in her ear, demanding, “Tell me, who else do you want to marry?”

Baozhu's eyes fill with tears. She bites her lip, her face flushed like the rosy clouds, and the color takes a long time to fade.

(Willful, mischievous beauty x duplicitous, scheming young royal uncle)

(No blood relation; the male lead is not really her uncle)
