What are you doing here?” Ke Zhao shot back, perfectly righteous, “My godmother invited me. Why shouldn’t I be here?” After a moment of tense silence, Wen Ye suddenly felt someone clasp his hand tightly beneath the table. His first reaction wasn’t to pull away. Instead, he instinctively wanted to lace their fingers together. “...” Realizing his body had betrayed his will, Wen Ye hurriedly tried to pull his hand back. But that only made the grip tighten. He had no choice but to turn his head away and avoid looking at the person beside him. Almost at the same time, an amused voice sounded by his ear. “Is this what you meant when you said you’d never have anything to do with me again?” - At university, Wen Ye was reunited with the childhood friend he hadn’t seen in years.
