A Piglet Spirit's Survival Guide to the 1970s

Zhu Zhu has always been able to eat and sleep a lot, and she has a poor memory, too. Her aunts all say she's stupid, that she must have been a pig in her previous life. When her grandfather sends her to the city, he repeatedly reminds her that while working in someone else's home, she mustn't eat too much or sleep in. She has to be quick on her feet if she wants people to like her.

Zhu Zhu takes her grandfather's words to heart and works diligently in the home of the military man's grandfather. Since she's stupid, she should talk less. She smiles at everyone, but she's absolutely terrified of the fifth older brother in the military man's family.

He always calls her a stupid pig while rubbing her face, pinching her arms, and eating her mouth. He also forbids her from telling the military man, his grandfather.

For a while, Zhu Zhu hates him to death. But then he buys her delicious treats, teaches her to read, and takes her out to play, and she starts to think he's a good person.

Later, Fifth Brother takes her to a state-owned restaurant and orders a whole table of dishes, but won't let her eat any. He says she can either become his wife or sit there and watch him eat!

Facing a table of delicious food, Zhu Zhu swallows hard, unable to resist, and asks, "What's so good about being your wife?"

Fifth Brother smiles like a good person. "Silly pig, there's no such thing as a free lunch. You have to be my wife to eat like this every day."

Zhu Zhu nods earnestly. "Okay, I'll do it!"

P.S. The female lead is a local, with no golden finger. She's naturally sweet and a bit spacey, and she can eat, drink, and sleep a lot. She's born lucky!
