Wang Yuanyuan is a bona fide little fairy.
She passes the time on her immortal mountain in two ways: reading books from the mortal realm, or doing something a little twisted. You could call her a voyeur, in a way.
She has a magical artifact that's impressive and useless in equal measure, called the Mirror of the Mortal World.
Just as its name suggests, it can observe everything in the human world.
She looks down on the fairies who descend to the mortal realm and the demons who struggle to take human form, only to lose their lives over trivial matters.
"If I were in the mortal realm, I'd take down anyone who got in my way."
And then she really did descend to the mortal realm, kicked down there by her big sister, Linglong, the mistress of Mount Nanhua.
Theme: Playing the fool to catch the tiger. Brilliant.
