The shikigami Ichimokuren once served the great onmyoji Abe no Seimei during the Heian period. Originally a wind god who protected humanity, he later lost his divinity and fell into becoming a yokai. After Seimei's death, a fortune-teller entrusted the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons Illustrated Scroll to Ichimokuren. As human society developed, the yokai all headed to the Land of Yokai, but Ichimokuren was sealed away. A hundred years later, summoned from his seal, Ichimokuren awoke and began a story all his own.
* Ichimokuren is probably only about 150 cm tall, roughly the height of a short sword.
* Ichimokuren is not his real name. As a former god, he would certainly have had a divine name.
* I'm neither praising nor criticizing the government of the time. Not everything is the government's fault. I'll try to make the worlds of Onmyoji and Touken Ranbu fit together, but this is entirely my own imagination and should not be taken as reference.
