The Far East, 1793

Winter is the most beautiful season in the Far East, and also the worst. Four-year-old Lovna lies across her mother's lap, begging her to tell a story. "All right, then. I'll tell you a story about a rose. It was snowing on the day the story began, just about as much as it is now. A swordsman from Huaguo stood beneath a tower in the Far East and saw a rose imprisoned at its summit..." "I know! The rose was a beautiful girl, and the swordsman braved every danger in the unfamiliar Far East to save the girl he loved, all so he could marry her, right?" "Nicely told, Lovna. But remember, the fearless swordsman who braved every danger was your mother, and the rose in the tower was your father." A stunning, hot-tempered foreign princess and master swordswoman X a cool, calculating, sly royal heir from the Far East Reader's guide: 1.
