Jiang Mu has a problem: he seems to be bound to an evil-god version of Final Destination.
Whenever that tentacled monster called Wu Xiao comes back to life, the world opens a new instance.
"Death check-in number 27." Jiang Mu twisted off Wu Xiao's head without expression. "Dissolved in an acid pool this time. Estimated revival time: 3 minutes and 42 seconds."
New tentacles slowly emerged from Wu Xiao's severed neck, forming a heart with their fingers. "Darling, you're getting better at this."
Ever since this Cthulhu-like ancient god possessed him, Jiang Mu has been forced to perform "A Hundred Ways to Kill an Evil God" every day:
- Blow up a building and kill it in a city where people party themselves to death
- Crush it with a hydraulic press in a strange, desolate mountain village
- Even try putting it in the microwave for three minutes
But Wu Xiao always revives with even more bizarre abilities.
This time it has butterfly-like wings on its back; next time it turns into a translucent jellyfish. Its latest form even comes with rose-scented tentacles.
"Can't you just stay dead?" Jiang Mu stabbed a dagger into its heart for the 108th time.
Wu Xiao licked the blood from his fingertip and murmured with a smile, "If I died, who would take a knife for you?"
Just as Jiang Mu finally found a solution, Wu Xiao suddenly grabbed his hand and crushed its own core.
"Congratulations on clearing the level." It chuckled as it faded away. "As a reward..."
Jiang Mu's waist suddenly began to burn, and Wu Xiao's voice exploded in his mind: "The next instance will be harder, baby."
Couple: A cold, human-shaped weapon as the pursued vs. an immortal, fun-loving evil god as the pursuer
[Reader notes]
1. Slight doomsday elements, entirely fictional setting, and total nonsense.
2. The pursuer's revival point is linked to the pursued's heartbeat.
3. At first, one wants to possess the other, while the other wants to slay the god.
4. It really loves him so much.jpg
