What's the Point of Being a God?

After the gods vanished, demons and monsters proclaimed themselves immortals and established their own sects.

Xiwu was offered up as a sacrifice to a demon sect. The sect leader, Ning Jiuwei, was supposed to use her to increase his cultivation, but she somehow became the "only god" in his eyes.

Ning Jiuwei: "From today on, you are the only divine being here, my lord."

Xiwu: "...May I ask what a god is supposed to do?"

Ning Jiuwei: "Eat when you're hungry, drink when you're thirsty, show yourself now and then to display your divine might, and everything will be fine."

But becoming a god is no easy feat. The first step is recovering her memories of being one.

In the fragments of memory that remain, she sees a young man named Dou Wei, identical to Ning Jiuwei.

Dou Wei and Ning Jiuwei are yin-yang twins, sharing one life and one body with two souls.

A hundred years ago, he followed her, revered her, respected her, and loved her.

When they meet again after a century, he places a reverent kiss on the back of her hand.

"My divine lord, you have been away from this world for far, far too long."
