In high school: the top student and school heartthrob (cold, reserved, secretly passionate, and insecure) versus the fake top student and school beauty (confident and pretending to be proud).
As adults: a cool, aloof doctor versus a warmhearted ballet dancer.
Mutual pining and a reunion.
In short, it's the story of a poor country boy who falls for a wealthy city girl, can't forget her, and works hard for her and for himself.
(1) In her senior year of high school, family troubles forced Wen Yunzhi to seek refuge in the countryside, where she enrolled at Qingcheng No. 1 High School. Early in the school year, she crossed Gu Yansheng, the legendary campus king, who splashed wine in her face. She got her revenge on the spot by splashing him right back. Later, he repeatedly came to her aid when she was in trouble.
Ten years later, she returned to Qingcheng and learned that Gu Yansheng, the boy she'd kept in her heart, had also left the city the day she did. No one knew where he was.
(2) Ten years later, Gu Yansheng spotted Wen Yunzhi in the crowd at a glance.
The bar was dimly lit in a dusky yellow. She seemed unchanged, still dazzling and radiant.
A friend beside him teased, "That's her, right? You've been living like a monk all these years for her, haven't you?"
A flash of restraint passed through his eyes, but his expression remained as calm as ever.
To prove his point, the friend took advantage of his distraction, pulled out his phone, and tapped the screen. The girl in the lock-screen photo was beautiful, pure, and radiant. It was unmistakably the woman standing nearby.
Gu Yansheng stared at the photo, his expression distant.
He should have died in the ruins of his eighteenth year, but he had lived on, waiting for her into old age.

Little Fairy and Big Demon King
Gu Zhi was a refreshing exception on the reality show Changing Lives. He was rebellious, extreme, wild, and quick-tempered, yet he had a good heart. On that rainy day, Yongjia accepted the violin he'd earned through hard work and was moved to tears. She welcomed him, the "older brother" who had come to their home to change his life.
Later, her parents adopted her, and they lived under the same roof, calling each other brother and sister.
In outsiders' eyes, Gu Zhi had a fearsome temper, but he cherished his little sister more than life itself.
A girl confesses to him. He says, "My sister doesn't like you. Stay away from me."
A friend asks him to play online. He says, "My sister told me to come home for dinner. How can I play?"
A friend jokes that he treats Yongjia so well because he likes her.
Gu Zhi laughs. "How could I like her? She's not my type at all. I just think of her as my little sister."
Hearing this, Yongjia throws the lovingly prepared lunch she made for him into the trash and no longer has the slightest romantic interest in Gu Zhi.
Unable to get used to Yongjia's sudden coldness, Gu Zhi is thrown off balance. When he learns she's fallen for the top student in the class next door, he grows jealous and bitter. "Who was the one who said she only liked me? What do you mean, liking another guy now?"
Yongjia: "It doesn't mean anything. You think of me as your sister, and I think of you as my brother. That doesn't stop me from liking other guys."
Gu Zhi is both timid and shamelessly bold. "Then I'm not your brother anymore. I'm giving you a chance to fall for me again."
Yongjia: ...
