The Platinum Throne

The war of the gods begins, and the age of the spellcasters teeters on the brink.

The throne in the White Gold Tower is cold. The woman upon it looks down at all living beings with an icy gaze. She will always be calm, always rational, always watching everyone.

Only when that person appears does the ice begin to crack, like spring returning to the earth.

The White Gold Tower stands above all races, factions, and nations. It is the city of spellcasters, a land beyond the law, a nation beyond nations. Spellcasters will endure, and the White Gold Tower will endure.

Your duty is to the White Gold Tower, and my duty is to you.

Norma Hill never imagined that her lifelong composure and self-control would ultimately be undone by a heat cycle and a young woman she had watched grow up, someone on the opposing side of the conflict.

Caroline Martin smiles at her. "I told you, we were never enemies."

Norma: "That's impossible! Sooner or later, we'll have to settle this between us!"

Caroline: "We can do that. We just have to pick a place... your room or mine, perhaps?"

The story uses the same general setting as Villain Alliance, but you don't need to have read it.

Themes: The clashing of ideas between people.
