Everyone in the palace says that Regent Ye Moyan is a cold-blooded killer who slaughters without blinking. He controls the government and bullies the young emperor, so he must be a bad person.
Yun Jin steps in front of her imperial brother and glares at the imposing, cold-faced regent. She says angrily, "If you bully my brother again, I'll hit you."
Everyone's heart jumps into their throat, afraid the regent will hurt the little princess in a fit of rage.
But the regent, who has never even bent a knee before the emperor, slowly drops to one knee. He looks at the little princess calmly and says:
"Your Highness may do as she pleases with me."
Later, the empress dowager issues an edict ordering the little princess to marry the regent.
The court is filled with sighs. Everyone assumes the empress dowager gave her most beloved little princess to the regent because she feared his power and had no choice.
The regent finds the little princess, clenches his fists, and says in a low voice, "I won't usurp the throne. Your Highness doesn't have to sacrifice herself for His Majesty."
Yun Jin blinks, steps close to the handsome regent, and looks at his reddening ears. Smiling, she says, "I'm marrying you, but it's not for my brother."
"It's because I like you."
