A Fine Concubine of a Prestigious Family

Luo Qingdai's grandmother was the daughter of a prefect, and her grandfather was the magistrate of a county. By chance, she entered the Duke of Wei's household as a concubine.

The Duke of Wei was the emperor's brother-in-law and the Crown Prince's uncle. They said he held immense power at court.

There's usually a grain of truth in what people say, but often a lot of exaggeration, too. Luo Qingdai couldn't be bothered to care. She simply used her reputation as the duke's "favored concubine" to build a thriving business.

Until one day, a business partner tried to curry favor with her. "Madam Qing, the duke has come to fetch you. His carriage is waiting outside."

The merchant was so obsequious, he seemed ready to bow until his forehead touched the paving stones.

Luo Qingdai...

Damn it, can anyone tell her what the duke looks like?

Jing Nanxing was dignified and composed, never doing anything out of line. Then one day, he rode down the main street. People told him, "This is your shop. And this is your shop, too. And this one as well..."

By the fourth shop, the duke was stunned. "This is mine, too?"

"No."

Jing Nanxing hadn't even had time to breathe a sigh of relief when they added, "This shop is still under negotiation. If you want, Duke, we can send someone over right away."

Jing Nanxing had no idea when his family had acquired so many businesses. Not only that, he apparently had a "Madam Qing" whom he doted on.

Jing Nanxing just wanted to find someone who could tell him what his beloved Madam Qing looked like, and whether she knew that her business dealings all over the capital had landed him in enormous trouble!
