In ancient times, dragons were demon beasts. They had to cultivate in order to become divine dragons, but cultivation was arduous. Ming Zhi dragged his feet for hundreds of thousands of years, and finally reached the tribulation that would let him ascend. The heavenly lightning nearly roasted him into a dragon barbecue, leaving behind only a wisp of his soul to sleep for ten thousand years. He only awoke when the modern-day Ming Zhi transmigrated into his body.
The Ming Zhi who had transmigrated was also bewildered. A dragon, a lucky mascot made up by the ancients?
He thought that, as a lucky mascot, he would be well fed and looked after. But the reality was that if he did not cultivate, his soul would scatter, and the cultivation world was a brutal place. People kept wanting to drink his blood or make a contract with him and enslave him.
Luo Jiuyuan: "If we make a contract, your soul won't scatter. Will you sign?"
Ming Zhi: "Do you think I'm the kind of dragon who gives in to others? Be a slave? Not a chance."
Luo Jiuyuan: "The contract says I'll provide food and drink and cultivate alongside you. I'll follow you to the ends of the earth."
Ming Zhi: "Come here, let me take a bite. Contract signed."
Cultivation is for the sake of having a better romance. A dragon who can breathe fire is utterly lost in the deep sea of Jiuyuan.
Content warnings:
1. Shou protagonist, 1v1, and the two have past lives.
2. Indulgent and satisfying, wildly imaginative. Little Jiuyuan keeps older friend Ming Zhi company as he cultivates. It's silly and goofy, so feel free to pass if that's not your thing.
Theme: Growth is a long process of cultivation, but with someone by your side, you will always fight harder!
