Zhou Qu temporarily (and reluctantly) takes in his cousin's recently purchased pet rabbit. One day, he spots the little rabbit on the security camera, transformed into a young woman, lying on the sofa and watching TV while eating potato chips.
Zhou Qu: ...This rabbit...has become a spirit?
Yun Ruan, a rabbit spirit, was punished for sneaking a taste of magical herbs. When she woke up, she found herself a pet rabbit a thousand years in the future.
Spiritual energy is scarce in this world. Luckily, her current human, who cleans up after her, has spiritual energy of his own. Yun Ruan decides to stay by his side, absorb his energy, and transform back into human form.
One day, her former human shows up to take her home. Yun Ruan discovers that he has just a hair more spiritual energy than Zhou Qu, and shamefully finds herself falling for him.
Zhou Qu pins down the heartless little white rabbit and sneers. "Want to leave? Not a chance."
Later, Yun Ruan uses her unique talent to become a renowned animal communicator. When a magazine interviews her, they take the opportunity to ask Zhou Qu a few questions, too.
Reporter: You must really love animals to have ended up with Miss Yun. Could you tell us which animal is your favorite?
Zhou Qu smiles. "Rabbits. The white, soft and fluffy kind."
Yun Ruan: …
Yun Ruan QAQ: Rabbits are so cute! How could you eat a rabbit?
