After Being Ordered to Marry the Imperial Marshal

Gu Xun and Lin Xiu have been married for three years. Their marriage was arranged by their families, and there is no affection between them. In Gu Xun's eyes, Lin Xiu is obedient, timid, and dull. The only time he seems remotely human is when they're doing that thing in bed. Gu Xun thought life would go on like this forever. Until one day, the usually obedient and mild-mannered young man came to him with an agreement in hand. "Let's get divorced." ** Lin Xiu is an illegitimate son who is not favored by his family. At eighteen, just after graduating from the Imperial Military Academy, his good looks get him sent off to marry Gu Xun, the head of the rival family and the youngest marshal in the empire. The Lin and Gu families are notorious enemies throughout the empire. Their old and new grudges can be traced back eighteen generations. The moment Lin Xiu entered the Gu household, everyone thought the same thing: "It's over for that discarded son of the Lin family, isn't it?" Imperial Marshal Gu Xun is known for his ruthless style and domineering ways. He's famously terrifying, and at twenty, by imperial decree, he was forced to marry a useless good-for-nothing from an enemy family, becoming a laughingstock across the empire. He constantly treated Lin Xiu harshly, trying to make him give up and leave. But then he unexpectedly discovered that beneath the young man's gentle, harmless exterior beat a heart just as fiercely passionate as his own. ** After the divorce, Gu Xun assumed that Lin Xiu, being so mild-mannered and honest, would spend his days planting flowers and pulling weeds, living out the rest of his life as an unremarkable gardener. Until one day, at the annual awards ceremony at Imperial Headquarters, he saw that young man standing proudly at the head of the assembled heroes, wearing a flight suit and a medal of military merit. "I carry a heart full of grievances, while I envy the warmth and tenderness in yours." Theme: Love life, and never give up on even the smallest glimmer of hope
