Pairing: Mo Yu and Jiang Xingchen. A black koi spirit with a built-in bad-luck skill, hardworking and ambitious, paired with a vicious, brooding big villain who has had terrible luck since childhood and only dotes on his beloved. One-on-one.
Mo Yu, a black koi spirit with an innate talent for bad luck, transmigrates into a koi novel as a cannon-fodder male side character with a tragic ending.
The heroine, Li Jin, is a beloved figure with a koi's aura of good fortune. Thanks to her luck, even with mediocre acting skills, she's effortlessly adored by everyone. A three-time Best Actor, a business tycoon, an older rich man, and a young genius all dote on her, loving her to the point of obsession. The cannon-fodder male character gets mocked and cursed by the whole internet for saying, "If Li Jin didn't have her koi aura, would so many people still adore her?" He's accused of being jealous and attention-seeking, uneducated, and not even worthy of the heroine's little finger.
To win the heroine's favor, powerful men from all walks of life take turns suppressing, retaliating against, and tormenting the original character. Driven to the brink, he eventually takes his own life. Of course, none of this has anything to do with our sweet, soft, gentle, harmless, universally adored heroine. After all, she didn't kill him herself!
The black koi spirit Mo Yu has just transmigrated into this world. He sneers: "So what if you have a koi skill? You have good luck, and I have bad luck!" And then things go like this:
Li Jin: "It's over! My luck aura suddenly stopped working. I keep making mistakes on the show, and my image is falling apart. What do I do?"
The powerful men: "My movie role was stolen! My investment lost a fortune! I lost control of my family! My research project failed! Jinjin, where's your luck aura? Help!"
Onlookers: "Mo Yu outsmarted everyone on the show! Mo Yu got into the best university in the country! Ahhh, Mo Yu is a computer genius too?"
Big villain Jiang Xingchen: "Wonderful. My rival's heaven-defying luck has suddenly disappeared."
