The Demon Empress's Secret

Announcement: This story will be available to subscribers starting October 25. Three chapters will be posted that day. Love you all! Heart!

Zhao Muyan, eldest daughter of Prime Minister Zhao, was the most beautiful woman in the Southern Kingdom. She entered the palace at fifteen and became empress at eighteen. Ruthless and formidable, she faced few rivals in the imperial harem. She even meddled in state affairs, relying on the emperor's favor. Though officials impeached her, she continued to do as she pleased, and the people of the Southern Kingdom called her the Wicked Empress.

Then she met Qi Yuxin, a junior constable in the Imperial Constabulary, whom she had once promoted in title only while secretly demoting her. From then on, Zhao Muyan kept a secret in her heart, a sweet and unspeakable secret.

Wicked Empress Zhao: I heard you spent three days with those men from the Imperial Constabulary?

Constable Qi: Yes, I was investigating a case.

Wicked Empress Zhao: Then stay with me.

Constable Qi: Why?

Wicked Empress Zhao: To investigate an unsolved case.

Constable Qi: What case?

Wicked Empress Zhao: My heart has gone missing. I don't know who stole it.

Constable Qi: ...How... how long will the investigation take?

Wicked Empress Zhao: A lifetime.

Reading guide:

1. One-on-one romance.

2. A little angst, but it's sweet most of the time.

3. The story is mostly about solving cases, and about the Wicked Empress and the constable gradually falling for each other as they investigate. (Blushing)

4. Happy ending, and I won't abandon it!
