After taking half a year off school, Wen Xuhua returns to class. The six months he spent away “getting treatment” have left his grades in ruins, turning the once top-performing student into the class “bottom-dweller.” So, during the summer before his final year of high school, his father hires him a tutor. He never expected that this “tutor” would be Wen Dou, the “big brother” he used to rely on and follow around when he was younger.
After years apart, the two meet again, and an unusual feeling gradually blossoms that summer.
Wen Xuhua: Big Brother, do you want to know what illness I had during the year I took off school?
Wen Dou: Xuhua, what’s wrong?
Wen Xuhua: I have an illness that makes me fall for men.
He thought it was only an Eden full of thorns, but it turned out to be... Wen Xuhua asked, “Have you heard of boiling a frog in warm water?”
Wen Dou smiled and asked him, “Are you saying I’m the frog?”
He shook his head, the corners of his lips curling up. “No. We both are.”
Reader advisory:
1. Couple: Wen Dou (top) x Wen Xuhua (bottom). They are not blood-related! They aren’t even registered in the same household!
2. Gentle, sunny, angelic top x a devilish bottom who is not what he seems. Their personalities may change as the story progresses.
3. There is a seven-year age gap, with the top being older. The top has had a previous partner. See the main text for details. Proceed with caution if this is a trigger for you.
4. The early story is oppressive and depressing, while the later part is heartwarming and tearjerking. The ending is definitely HE. Sweet-story lovers, proceed with caution.
5. My writing is just so-so, and this story is probably quite different from the two I wrote before.
6. After returning from revisions, the entire story has been written in advance and is now complete. Finally, those involved are often blind to what is clear to onlookers. Whatever decisions they make have nothing to do with us, who can see the whole picture. Please read civilly. Thank you.
