This novel may be updated alongside Zhaozhao for a while, possibly one chapter every three days.
Everyone says Lin Zhaozhao's youth can be summed up in five phrases: born into a distinguished family, clever and talented, a born general, bright and spirited, and mischievous.
Lin Zhaozhao corrects them: That's not right. There's also Shen Yang.
Oh, right. There's also Shen Yang.
At seven, she crawled through a dog hole. At thirteen, she climbed over walls. At fifteen, she sneaked into his house, all to see the Shen Yang she couldn't stop thinking about.
The storyteller says, "Oh, I get it."
And so another version spreads through the streets and alleys: The wildly mischievous Lin Zhaozhao can only behave herself around Shen Yang of the Shen family, so Shen Yang must be the one who keeps her in check.
Lin Zhaozhao: "??? Say that again. You call that being kept in check? I'm indulging him!"
Shen Yang: "I think we need to discuss this properly. Which of us is indulging the other?"
Important!!!
The setting takes place after the fall of the Sui. The country is called Sheng, the royal family has the surname Ning, and the system is gender-equal, extremely, ridiculously equal.
Mini-scene:
Shen Yang, three years older than Lin Zhaozhao, sighs as he looks at her, having just hauled her out of the lotus pond. He asks worriedly, "You're a grown young lady now. Why are you still messing around in the pond with them? Aren't you afraid no one will want to marry you later?"
"I never went into the water," Lin Zhaozhao says nonchalantly. "If I don't marry, I don't marry. I can support myself. When I'm old, I'll get a few young men to keep me company and relieve my boredom... Ahem."
Just listen to what she's saying.
Shen Yang looks up at the sky and sighs.
Actually, probably, the chapters later on are just a tiny bit more entertaining than the ones before...
