Rather than calling this a fantasy cultivation novel, I'd say it's a story about feuds, love, and hate set against a fantasy backdrop. This isn't the traditional fantasy progression story of leveling up and fighting monsters, so I hope fans of traditional cultivation novels will forgive me.
The protagonist is a beautiful young woman from an ordinary family of fishermen. She sometimes helps her grandfather ferry people across the Luo River. But through a twist of fate, the truth of her complicated background is revealed, along with the feuds between two generations and the forces of good and evil.
The world in this story is modeled on our own, so some place names, geography, and appearances may resemble reality. Still, I hope you can treat it as a new map and a new world, distinct from the real one.
This is my first time writing, so my descriptions and character portrayals may fall short. I've revised every chapter several times before posting, but there may still be glaring flaws and gaps. As I write, I may go back and revise or add to earlier chapters.
The story should be between one and two million characters long. Though this is my first time writing, I don't want to abandon it halfway through, so I wrote an outline of over fifteen thousand characters before I began. I'm still refining and expanding the outline as I write, so if you enjoy the story, please share your thoughts and suggestions.
Because of work and other commitments, I may not be able to update at a fixed time. I'll do my best to post daily, but the time is still uncertain. It could be morning, noon, or evening, since I have to squeeze in writing whenever I can.
I originally wanted to tell the story slowly and describe everything as fully as possible, so I may not have handled the pacing well. I'll do my best to bring it closer to the usual pace of web novels.
I hope you enjoy it. Thank you...
Theme: No matter how you cultivate or how high your cultivation reaches, you cannot escape love, hate, and old grudges.
