Shen Yanqing has been a Reaper in the Underworld for 1,000 years. Over that time, he has watched the tools used to bind people change from wooden stocks to handcuffs,
watched the Black and White Impermanence shed their long robes for black-and-white suits,
watched Meng Po explain to newly dead souls every day that she is actually a man,
and watched the 19-year-old boy before him, who had just died because Shen Yanqing dragged him into it, say that he doesn't want to be reincarnated and only wants to be his partner for all eternity?
An infinite game they're dragged into, a vortex of souls suddenly appearing over Suzhou and Hangzhou, a flamboyant peacock who calls himself the Snake King aboard a luxury gambling ship, the Ghost King of Luofeng Mountain suddenly emerging from seclusion, and the four great families who have suddenly appeared in the mortal world to eradicate spirits: Yun Yi and Hua Rong.
The world was peaceful for 1,000 years. Why has everything suddenly gone haywire?
One-on-one, seme and uke pairing. High-IQ wolfdog seme x powerful, beautiful, tragic uke.
P.S. My Shen has quite a background.
Premise: Don't dwell on the past, don't let the present distract you, and welcome the future.
