So this story...
is about one person, and a group of people, growing up.
Dedicated to all the lovely girls.
It's all so ordinary: the five-mao sodas we drank as kids, the five-yuan cones we bought when we got older, and then, a little later, the heart that wanted to rebel and race. Sneaking Mom's lipstick to put on makeup, wearing the high heels a friend bought with her saved-up allowance to play big sister at a live house, rolling around in bed with a blanket when texting a boy we liked late at night, lying face-down on the desk and feeling absolutely miserable over a bad test score, drinking sweet milk tea and walking hand in hand while shopping, discussing which clothes looked best, crowding onto one bed with endless little secrets to share...
There are so many things. Some are too hard to put into words.
This story is about ordinary little girls and boys like that, growing up at their own unhurried pace.
I love girls so much. They're all so lovely, gentle, thoughtful, and cute. Give them a big hug and let them act spoiled, and I'd want to pluck the stars for them.
I love boys, too. They're so cute as well: bold, hot-tempered, and adorable. A simple, clean white shirt, a three-pointer under the sun... They're the kind of kids you want to kiss.
Everyone is a lovely little kid.
And I hope that no matter how old you get, you'll always be a sweet, adorable kid in someone's eyes.
