Filling in the Blanks

A fox-faced, bunny-hearted art girl and a seemingly innocent, secretly scheming, brooding CEO

After spending twenty years immersed in nature and art, Lin Yi thought her family had gone bankrupt. Forced to leave her home among the peacocks in the tropical rainforest, she returned to China and gritted her teeth as she entered show business to save her father, who, according to rumors, was about to have both hands chopped off.

At the talent show where she made her debut, Chu Xiao, the owner behind the scenes, said nothing.

When her terrible acting got her scolded, Chu Xiao, the major investor, still said nothing.

Later, after she had finally paid off her debt, Lin Yi clapped her hands together, ready to return to her old life. But Chu Xiao scooped her up at the airport and took her back.

"Where do you think you're going?" Chu Xiao drew close to Lin Yi. "My fiancee?" he asked, each word deliberate.

Lin Yi struggled all the way to get out of his arms. "No, my family went bankrupt. I mean, wasn't that already..."

He silenced her with a kiss. After a long while, Lin Yi could barely breathe and beat against Chu Xiao with both hands. Only then did he let her go. He turned on the TV, and the face of Lin Yi's father, Lin Shuangmu, appeared on a financial news channel. The old man was talking animatedly about an investment.

"You drive luxury cars, live in a mansion, and use Louis Vuitton," Chu Xiao said, narrowing his eyes. "Bankrupt? Have you gotten so into the act that you can't stop?"

I didn't! I swear! Just hear me out...
