Saving the World with a Paintbrush Alongside Van Gogh

Vivian, a lifelong nanny, dies alone after a life of hard work. When she wakes up, she finds herself a girl of eighteen in nineteenth-century Holland. With no friends or family in sight, she can only return to her old line of work, serving an eccentric young painter named Vincent van Gogh. Before long, she discovers that whenever one of Van Gogh's paintings moves her and she photographs it with the camera she brought with her when she transmigrated, the painting becomes a real world, beautiful, fantastical, or perilous. These painted worlds connect the past and the future, and whenever the two of them enter one, they appear at a pivotal point in history. Now they must use the paintbrush and camera in their hands to save the world.

In the first world, Van Gogh's painting The Starry Night sends them to the eve of the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre. Conspirators raise their gleaming blades, intent on igniting a war that will last a hundred years during Queen Margot's wedding. Vivian, transmigrated into Queen Margot, and Van Gogh, now one of her guards, must foil the many plots within a week, before the wedding, turn the tide, stop the slaughter, and save the world.
