Singing to My Dreams

[Updating slowly]

In the eleventh year of the Ruihe reign, to reward the Xia clan of Jizhou for helping secure the northwestern frontier city, the emperor betrothed Li Shuwan, the seventh daughter of Li Yanqing, to the fourth son of General Xia.

But the wedding procession was beset by one mishap after another. In the resulting confusion, Li Shuwan was forced to set in motion an entanglement with an unknown general.

The man before her wore a face as impassive as water, yet had been flustered ever since they first met. This veteran of the battlefield, who never missed his mark, sent an arrow three inches off target at the sound of her soft call.

Later, Li Shuwan realized that once the general shed his golden armor, he belonged in her arms, where she could keep him close and never let him leave her side.

Amid the sounds of battle, the two stood shoulder to shoulder.

"The evenings are lonely. How does Sister pass the time?"

Xia Yuge tightened his grip on his sword hilt. "The sky is clear tonight. How about opening the window to watch the moon?"

"Indeed." Li Shuwan smiled and took the hand of the person beside her. "It's a rare, beautiful night. I ought to offer Sister a few more heads, so this moonlight won't go to waste."
