Chronicles of the Clash for Power

In an age ruled by a foolish emperor, the current ruler of the Yin dynasty, Nie Weiping, is a cowardly, boastful man who lives in extravagant luxury. To wage war against the neighboring Youyi state and build imperial retreats across the land, he has nearly emptied the treasury. With taxes raised once again and natural disasters striking, heroes throughout the realm rise in revolt. Among the rebel forces, the strongest are Ning Ruifeng, the Righteous Heavenly King; Yu Yuyu, the Lord of Heavenly Virtue; and Ou Zhanhai, the Prince of Nanyang. They each seize Xinyang, Heyang, and Pingcang as their bases and expand from there.

Amid the turmoil, the imperial jade seal of the previous dynasty suddenly resurfaces in the martial world, stirring the ambitions of the contending warlords. Nie Youguo, founding emperor of the Yin dynasty, was once the previous dynasty's grand marshal. After quelling incursions from the border state of Youyi, he led his troops back to Taiping, the eastern capital of the Ying dynasty. When the emperor rode out to welcome him, Nie Youguo captured him and forced him to abdicate. Yet when Nie Youguo entered the palace to search, the treasures and wealth in the former emperor's treasury and palace had vanished without a trace. The jade seal was among them. Now that it has resurfaced, a treasure of unimaginable proportions seems within reach, igniting the desire of everyone in the martial world to claim it.

Yang Xu, the third son of Yang Yuanqing, one of the Yin dynasty's three frontier princes, heads south to Youyang, where the seal has appeared. Determined to help the Yang family seize the realm amid the chaos, he embarks on a series of quests for the treasure, facing danger and traps at every turn. And amid these perils, a romantic love story begins.
