A cold, scheming regent gong x a silly, adorable, bootlicking, clownish shou just trying to survive
Saved on June 9, 2021
Chu Xing dies unexpectedly and transmigrates into a villainous puppet emperor in a cliched wish-fulfillment novel. He's supposed to obediently hold the protagonist's shoes, but the puppet emperor refuses to let the regent toy with the empire as he pleases.
He allies with a rival kingdom, frames the protagonist's entire family and has them executed, leaves him crippled and useless, and takes the protagonist's original female lead for himself. Unable to bear the humiliation, she takes her own life. The puppet emperor hangs her corpse above the city gate for three days.
As the saying goes, when the female lead ascends to heaven, her powers know no bounds. In less than two years, the protagonist returns and grinds him to dust.
To stay alive, Chu Xing does everything he can to bring the two of them together, but he doesn't notice that the other's gaze is becoming more and more unsettling.
Pei Xingyan is reborn. When he wakes, he finds himself lying beside the puppet emperor. He initially decides to kill the cursed emperor on the spot, but his severe internal injuries let the other man get away.
So he lays a trap throughout the imperial palace, ready to capture him in one fell swoop.
Just as everyone in the palace thinks the empire is about to take the Pei name,
Regent Pei Xingyan announces to the world, "As long as I live, the empire will always bear the name Chu."
Everyone: Weren't we told the regent was going to rebel?!
In the Great Chu imperial palace,
Chu Xing cries as he pushes away the hand rubbing his belly. "It's not my empire, and I don't want it! You can have the throne, you can have the female lead back. Just let me live! (QWQ)"
Pei Xingyan (grabbing the little emperor and holding him tight): "You wish."
