Sugar in the Medicine

[A clever, rebellious beauty & a cold, ruthless young master]

The year Nan Ji met Li An, she was in the prime of her youth.

A rebellious girl from a rundown school, she had an innocent, pure face that was breathtakingly beautiful.

She wanted someone powerful to rely on; he found her interesting and talented, so she became his bartender.

But she couldn't figure him out or warm his heart.

"Young Mr. Li, when I grow up, will you..."

"No."

She shouldn't have taken him seriously in the first place.

Li An had always been cold-hearted and ruthless, yet his eyes were gentle and full of affection, enough to leave countless women utterly captivated.

He thought of the girl as a trophy. All he had to do was say the word, and she would stay by his side forever.

Until he finally fell too deep, and Nan Ji let go.

On a night of torrential rain, she lifted her skirt and turned to climb into a luxury car, proud and graceful, leaving without looking back.

She took over an immense fortune, built her own brand, and made waves in business. Her list of admirers was endless.

And at last, she left him utterly defeated in love.

"Li An, you lost."

Yes, he had lost. He had lost the girl who once liked him so much.

But if he had to lose to her in this lifetime, he accepted it.

Because she was worth it.

In my cruel, chaotic life, you are the one sweet thing I have left. For you, I'd gladly accept total defeat.

A lone boat drifts from shore, its deep love unable to reach its destination.

P.S. The male lead isn't a scumbag, and the female lead isn't unreasonable, but the male lead does suffer a bit. If that's not your thing, you may want to give this one a miss.
