After I Was Dumped, My Ex Turned into a Mermaid and Swam Away

On her twentieth birthday, Chu Ying stared at the fish tail she'd just transformed and fell into deep thought.

She nervously asked her top-student boyfriend, who was allergic to seafood:

"Do mermaids count as seafood?"

When he said yes, Chu Ying gritted her teeth, flicked her tail, and swam away.

Three years later, Chenxing Real Estate was about to blow up her waters and turn them into a water park.

As the only mermaid in the area who could take human form, Chu Ying was forced to go ashore and negotiate with the president of Chenxing Real Estate.

She opened the door and, well, look who it was: Gu Chen.

Chu Ying reassured herself: It had been three years.

Gu Chen listened patiently, then gave her his terms:

"Beg me."

Chu Ying: "Please."

Gu Chen pressed down on her fish tail. "That's not how you beg someone."

Chu Ying: My ex says he'll call off the demolition if we get back together. I'm in bed with a fish and want to know if I can trust him. Waiting for answers.

Gu Chen: Thanks for asking, but what right does a fish who's been a jerk to others have to ask that?

Chu Ying, cowering back underwater: Blub blub.
