[Demon Slayer] Between Illusions

Reading Notes

* The heroine is Kuribayashi Hazuki. This is a story about someone from “From the New World” who dies and is reborn. The premise is basically the same as that of Hananoi Rishu, the heroine of the neighboring story “I Come from the New World.” They may have the same soul (?)

There are a few crossover elements.

* The male lead is Giyu Tomioka. A tough guy moved to tears by love.

* Kuribayashi really is a demon, even though deep down she fiercely resists the idea.

* Related works: Demon Slayer, From the New World, xxxHOLiC, Noragami, Nurarihyon no Mago, The Garden of Sinners, Hell Girl

Red hair seems to be a curse. At least, in Kuribayashi's memory, none of the children with red hair ever had a good ending.

Maria, for example. The demon, for another. And then...

Her?

She wasn't the only one with long red hair.

Although she can't remember any of this now, Kuribayashi seems like a different person. She's still as quiet as before, but behind the thick bandages covering her eyes, there's a new stillness, like water that has ceased to flow.

No, no, no, something's wrong. Everything is wrong!

Knowing nothing is painful, too, like being the only one left behind by the world, helpless and alone.

She exists somewhere between reality and illusion.

What Kuribayashi truly wants is quite simple. No, simpler than that.
