[Coming soon: Raising a Tiger. Check it out in my author column!]
Set partly in school. Fan Chuyang loves seeking out geniuses, but somehow, one after another, they all leave her.
Almost ready to give up, she finds one last hope.
He's a thin young artist, different from the others: humble, hardworking, and obedient. He gives her hope.
She shows him her little hobby, something she has never shown anyone before: acting out scripts.
After that day, he asks her, “Have you ever thought about what you might be talented at?”
*
Ji Yunnuan has heard of Fan Chuyang. She's a rich girl who loves chasing after geniuses and treats every one of them exceptionally well.
He's good at painting, and he badly needs someone to be kind to him.
And so she comes along.
And so he never wants her to leave.
*
Both leads are each other's first and only. The male lead, Ji Yunnuan, is a pitiful soul with an obsessive, one-sided crush. The female lead, Fan Chuyang, seems carefree and indifferent, but is even more obsessive than he is. They save each other. A sweet romance.
An unconventional strong-woman/weak-man pairing, but not a gender-bender romance.
The story involves the entertainment industry, but focuses mainly on the romance. Both leads have character flaws, so please skip this if that bothers you.

Coming soon 1: Raising a Tiger
Ji Nuo takes on a hot potato: her mother's close friend is going through a divorce, and her son has been left to fend for himself. He gets into fights at school and ranks at the bottom of his class. The woman asks Ji Nuo's mother for help, and Ji Nuo reluctantly agrees to attend a parent-teacher meeting for the boy.
The chubby little boy who used to look like a steamed bun has grown into a tall young man with a silver buzz cut, a shaved eyebrow, and pierced ears. He's thoroughly unconventional.
But when he sees her, he still swallows his frustration and calls her, “Auntie.”
Ji Nuo raises an eyebrow. “Well, at least you're not a lost cause.”
After sorting out that mess, she handles one disaster after another for him, earning a fresh “Auntie” each time.
She thinks she's just being kind, saving a wayward youth and earning good karma. She doesn't realize she's raising a tiger at her side.
On his eighteenth birthday, he blows out the candles. As she turns to switch on the light, he suddenly asks, “Now that I'm an adult, can I tell you I like you?”
Ji Nuo doesn't take him seriously. She turns on the light, then turns back, her smile gone. “Lu Shihuai, don't joke with me like that.”
Later, the young man holds her tight in his strong, burning embrace and kisses her neck. His eyes shine like sparks. “Ji Nuo, won't you believe me?”
A cool, elegant beauty * a rebellious, unruly young man
* There is more to the name “Auntie” than meets the eye.
* Until the male lead comes of age, the female lead sees him only as a younger relative.
* An age-gap romance: she is eight years older.
Theme: Believe that you are the brightest star.
