Darling, Extra Chapter Today?

Wen Tanyu has no hobbies besides reading web novels, and lately he's been obsessed with one particular author. Every day, he comments, tips, and showers the author with praise.

He likes sweet stories and doesn't like reading angst.

But the author he follows updates at the same fixed time every day, with the same number of chapters. The wait makes him so restless that he can't stand it anymore, so he sends the author a private message.

"Author, I can pay you. Could you send me the chapters you've already written for the rest of the story?"

Yu Yun is a full-time online novelist. One update a day, three thousand words per update. I'll lose if I post one more.

Life is good, but one day the top fan on her leaderboard sends her a private message, saying he wants to buy the chapters she's already written for her new novel.

What the hell are you talking about? How could I possibly have a backlog? Whenever I say I do, I'm just joking.

"Sorry, no. I'm an honest author. Let's just meet here at the usual time."

After Yu Yun and Wen Tanyu get together, the sentence she hears most often is: "Author, are you posting an extra chapter today?"

No surprise, the answer is no.

One day, Wen Tanyu reads a popular comment on Yu Yun's currently updating novel and falls into thought. That night, he suddenly scoops her up and tosses her into the air.

Yu Yun, baffled: "What are you doing?"

"I want to shake you and see if candy or a knife falls out."
