[Blurb 1: In verse]
The living King of Hell, long-lived as can be,
Got a bellyache and went to the privy.
He felt in his pocket, but found no paper,
Then felt his pants, and found two handfuls of crap.
The new "attendant" in the courtyard was clumsy and stupid, making mistakes every day and provoking Second Master Wu's ire day after day. A few days ago, he had beaten the attendant in a fit of anger, and at last the courtyard had been peaceful for a few days.
With nothing to do that day, he asked what the attendant was up to. He was told the boy was learning to write poems. Curious, Second Master Wu twirled his fan and went to the attendant's quarters. Seeing scraps of paper scattered beneath the window, he picked one up and unfolded it. His face immediately darkened.
He picked up another, and his face turned black as the bottom of a pot. On it, in crooked handwriting, were the words:
The King of Hell got himself a turtle,
Then killed it for being a mischievous fool.
The two of you were family to begin with,
So why keep fighting, with no reason at all?
Just yesterday, Second Master Wu had happened to get a tortoise. While feeding it, it had nipped his finger, so in a fit of anger he'd stewed it.
So the Living King of Hell meant him?
Wu Tianqin narrowed his eyes. After a long moment, he gritted his teeth and ground out a name: "Yuanbao."
Looks like that beating was wasted. He hadn't learned a thing.
[Blurb 2: Background]
In the eleventh year of the Tianqi reign, the south suffered its worst flood in a century. The mighty Yangtze roared and swept away most of Jiangnan.
After the flood, plague ran rampant. The entire Yangtze basin was littered with corpses, and the people were left in misery.
A couple surnamed Yuan from Caomiao Village fled south with their young son. The family of three wandered for over a year, starving, freezing, and reduced to skin and bones, barely clinging to life. When they reached the outskirts of Yuanling City, they happened to see the prefect's family, the Wu family, selecting young children outside the city. Looking at their child, so emaciated he was barely recognizable, the couple gritted their teeth and signed a death contract for their son Bao'er, selling him into the Wu household.
Before they parted, Bao'er's mother stroked his little face and said reluctantly, "Once your father and I have saved enough silver, we'll come redeem you."
Two years after entering the household, Yuanbao'er ran errands in the kitchen. The Wu family's good food had made him plump and rosy-cheeked, his little mouth often glistening with grease.
His life was sweet as honey, though he did miss his parents.
Every day, Bao'er would count on his fingers and wait eagerly for his parents to come redeem him.
But his parents never came. Two years later, the Living King of Hell, the Wu family's second young master, added a new attendant to his courtyard, and by mistake "he" was sent there.
On his very first day, the Living King of Hell was being flayed alive by the Old King of Hell.
Yuanbao'er naturally became cannon fodder.
"Which blind dog of a servant are you? Get out of my way!"
The Living King of Hell kicked "him" in the chest, sending him flying from the room to the courtyard. He rolled down the steps and nearly rolled straight into hell.
Dazed and seeing stars, Yuanbao'er struggled to his feet, baring his teeth and clutching his chest. He looked up at the magnificent, grand, and luxurious courtyard before him and thought, "His" good days in the Wu household were probably coming to an end. He'd likely never live to see his parents come redeem him.
Note: The poem above is adapted from a famous poem.

[Sweet post-marriage romance]
On the second day after their wedding, Commandery Princess Gong Hua of Anyang was still sleeping soundly, limp on the bed. But the top scholar Gu Qingshan had already left for his post in the southwestern frontier. He would be gone for a full three years.
Everyone said that the Commandery Princess of Anyang had caught smallpox before, leaving her once-beautiful face covered in pockmarks. That was why Gu Qingshan disliked her and had refused to take her with him when he left for his post. Barely a day after their wedding, he had left her alone, making her a discarded wife.
But the Commandery Princess of Anyang wasn't a pushover. Gu Qingshan had barely left the city gates when she set about packing and moved straight out of the marshal's residence and back into her own princess's residence.
During those three years, they exchanged one letter every three months. Apart from that, they had no contact at all.
As time went by, Anyang gradually forgot that she was even married.
Then, one day three years later, the couple ran into each other by chance at a peach blossom banquet at the residence of Count Anbo.
Anyang thought the tall, straight-backed figure in front of her looked a little familiar. It wasn't until he slowly walked toward her and she looked up at his face that she belatedly realized: Oh, her convenient husband, the seventh-rank county magistrate she'd married half a century ago before he left for his post in the southwestern frontier, had returned to the capital to report on his work.
Theme: Ordinary people living tenaciously and striving to improve themselves.
To be honest, this novel should be explosive. There are still quite a lot of people who have read it in the early stage. There are very few novels that I have seen with such female protagonists and male protagonists. Each has its own shortcomings. The male and female protagonists are pretty good. The plot in the front is not bad, but the flow in the back is too thin, the updates are slow, and the loss is large. As a reader, the reason why I see this is because the front part still attracts me. Even though there are many chapters in the back that are like water injection, I always feel scratchy when I reach this point. I always feel that I can write a little more and there is a little plot.
Most of the first parts are very, very good to read, but the later ones from when Yuan Baoer goes to Wu Da as a errand are not so good, and when he goes to the capital to save people, it falls into a cliche, and the emotional development of the male and female protagonists in the extra story is mind-boggling... Alas, overall it is much better than those sweet pet stories in Jinjiang, but the collection is so small, it is too unscientific.
I suggest you open another book about life after marriage, hahaha, I just like to see Wu Er Na Baoer helpless.
I believe Wuer and Baoer must have lived happily in the parallel world. Baoer is really a very special heroine. She is a little smart, philistine, reckless and a little pretentious. Wuer is also a very special male protagonist. He is arrogant and has a bad temper. He even beat and scolded Baoer at the beginning. But just like this, the two people collided together. It was a very refreshing combination, which brought many ironic stories. I think I may not be able to imagine how Yuan Baoer will become a mother in the future, and she is fully aware that she has fallen in love with Wuer, because if she falls in love, she may have to sincerely compromise. Maybe she is not like the fearless person she used to be. So it might be a good idea to end it here. Just like I said, leave a little room for imagination. Of course, I selfishly hope that the story will never end. Then the ending of Wu Er still carrying the ring ring is really touching, because as mentioned in the previous article, he was lying dying in the prison car with nothing on him. He tried his best to keep the jade ring ring. For Wu Er, it was a token of love that Yuan Baoer gave him. And the ending did not hesitate to use the image to trick Yuan Bao. He was really generous. He was really screwed up. Basically, I have to read it every day before I go to bed while I am chasing the article. It has not been updated. Thank you for writing this story. It is really a very detailed story. Finally, I wish Baoer a happy wedding on May 2nd, and don't forget to write additional clips.
Haha, the troubles of married life are updated to 100 chapters.
I always feel like the ending is disappointing! The emotional development later is too rough and too fast!! What a pity
Yuanbaoer. . . Zhu Bajie, who looks like Miss Gao, alas
End of the main text. It's not too much to ask for a side story, hahahaha
Author, please take care of yourself! This book by Yuan Baoer is really good. I hope there will be more. I will always support it.
I like this article very much. I have been following it chapter by chapter since chapter 27. I don't feel bored. Every time I can wait for the update, I will have a happy time that day. Thank you so much.
