Set against the backdrop of nearly forty years from the late 1970s to the 21st century, this work follows the lives and tangled relationships of Wen Han, Mu Zi, and Zhu Yin, three figures born in the 1960s and 1970s. Amid China's grand undertaking of reform and opening up and modernization, it portrays the aspirations of ordinary people across all walks of life. It depicts how, amid sweeping social changes, they encountered and adapted to new things and ideas in their careers, marriages and family lives, filial relationships, children's education, retirement and career choices, and daily routines, ultimately achieving their dreams in a remarkable journey. It vividly shows that the most ordinary, unknown people born in the 1960s and 1970s were not absent from the great rejuvenation of the new China. On the contrary, they created brilliant lives of their own.
Theme: Never give up on your original aspirations, no matter the circumstances. Whatever hardships and obstacles you face, persist and you will achieve your dreams.
