[Synopsis]
As the emperor’s only younger sister, Princess Zhu Zhu has just two things to worry about:
First, her elder brother, Emperor Zhu Youmei, is obsessed with woodworking and neglects state affairs.
Second, Pei Fengnian, the Xichang Directorate’s chief eunuch, holds power over the entire court and acts with impunity.
With the Great Min dynasty on the verge of falling into the hands of a villain, the little princess, concerned for her country and its people, can’t sit still. She decides to help the emperor get rid of Pei Fengnian, the treacherous eunuch.
Just as Zhu Zhu is about to put her plan into action, an imperial decree arrives out of the blue. The emperor orders her to marry, and the man seeking her hand turns out to be Pei Fengnian.
She is forced into the bridal sedan. A princess born to wealth and honor becomes a eunuch’s bride.
On their wedding night, in the quiet of midnight:
Pei Fengnian: If Your Highness will obediently be my wife, I will remove every threat and obstacle for you.
Zhu Zhu: All right, then start by removing yourself.
Five years later, the realm is at peace and the land prospers.
Looking at the handsome man beside her, Zhu Zhu suddenly finds she can’t bring herself to get rid of him.
Pei Fengnian: Plan successful.
One-line summary: The princess’s plan to root out corruption gets interrupted by marriage

> A real eunuch vs. a ? princess
> Looks like a semi-fictionalized Ming dynasty, but actually mixes in the Tang, Song, Yuan, Qing, and even the Republican era. Please don’t ask me to get my history right.
