[Pokemon] A Changed Destiny

Should he become a researcher studying the mysteries of Pokemon evolution, or an investigator who gets caught up in danger for the sake of Pokemon?

At the tournament:

Shigeru: "Satoshi, what would you do if someone hurt Pikachu?"

Satoshi: "Huh? Pikachu is my partner! I wouldn't let anyone hurt it! But, Shigeru, you're acting weird right now!"

Shigeru just looked at him and smiled without saying a word.

As Pikachu attacked, Eevee seemed to receive some kind of signal and stopped moving. It took Pikachu's attack head-on, then fell and was unable to battle.

Satoshi won the match, but he wasn't happy.

The Indigo League continued. Shigeru ran his fingers over the half of a Poke Ball in his hand one last time. In the end, he chose to ask Aunt Hanako to give it to Satoshi, then turned and walked away.

Shigeru picked Eevee up and murmured, "Eevee, you don't blame me, do you?"

Eevee shook its head, then lifted its face and licked Shigeru's chin.

A red-haired, red-eyed man held out his hand to Shigeru. "Welcome aboard, Investigator Ookido."

Shigeru reached out and grasped the man's hand tightly. "Yes. I look forward to working with you, Lance, one of the Elite Four and the Dragon Master."
