The Sickly Fake Young Master Just Wants to Run Away from Home

Yu Qingran had been frail and sickly since childhood. A gust of wind gave him a cold, a bit of rain brought on a high fever, and a few steps left him breathless and bright red. He'd practically grown up in a medicine jar.

He figured he wouldn't have made it to adulthood if his family hadn't spent huge sums of money caring for him so meticulously.

One day, he suddenly awakened and learned that he was the fake young master who served as cannon fodder in a novel.

According to the plot, the real young master would soon be brought home.

He couldn't bear to lose everything he had, so he opposed the real young master at every turn.

His loving parents decided he was cruel and malicious. His doting older brother thought he had betrayed him, and even his childhood friend could no longer stand him.

He was driven out of the house like a stray dog. Dragging his frail, battered body along, he struggled to survive, until one early autumn night he died of a fever that wouldn't break.

Terrified, Yu Qingran left a letter and fled the Yu family in the middle of the night to escape the plot.

When Yu Yanli heard that the little guy he'd raised in the palm of his hand, who couldn't even look after himself, had suddenly run away from home, he dropped everything and flew back to find him.

At a club in a small town, Yu Qingran wore a cheap, shoddy waiter uniform. His pale face held a stiff, fake smile as he awkwardly dealt with the customers.

When a customer grabbed his wrist and pulled him close, his delicate little face was full of panic and helplessness.

Yu Yanli kicked the customer to the ground and, suppressing his anger, soothed the frightened little guy.

But Yu Qingran's eyes held nothing but fear when he saw him. He was even more afraid than he had been when a stranger harassed him, and he sobbed, begging Yu Yanli not to come closer.

Yu Yanli was furious. Without a word, he pulled him into his arms and soothed him softly. "Be good, Ranran. Come home with me."

Yu Qingran shuddered and fainted on the spot.

The next morning, the real young master was brought home, and Yu Qingran offered to make room for him.

But Yu Yanli refused to let him leave, no matter what. Every time Yu Qingran ran away, he was caught and brought back.

A question slowly appeared over Yu Qingran's head.

This definitely wasn't how the book went!
