Kikyo, resurrected fifty years later, meets a young man from another time and space. This "fox" is vicious, calculating, and extremely ill-natured, but in the end, he heals the wounds Inuyasha left behind and becomes the miko's salvation.
The female lead is Kikyo fifty years later, and the male lead is an original character. He has an entire world system behind him, but that isn't discussed in this story. To Kikyo, the male lead is more like a sort of frenemy. The story began with the hope that the resurrected Kikyo wouldn't have to walk alone, and that someone would be there to accompany her.
Since Kikyo's journey of self-redemption is one of the story's themes, she still dies in the end, as she does in the original, but her state of mind has changed.
There is no pairing in this story, but if you insist, it's Inuyasha x Kikyo.
*Due to writer's block on JJ, this story is complete and has been moved to Baixiong Reading. The title is unchanged, and the ID is Chun Gongzi. Sorry for the trouble. I'm exhausted. (sigh)
