The child at the east end of the village has a huge wolfdog that won't stay put. Someone occasionally comes to stay in the empty house at the west end.
There's a crooked little stream in the village that dries up now and then. It begins in the west and ends abruptly in the east, but everyone calls it a river.
Mo the blacksmith looks less like a blacksmith and more like a schoolteacher, while the teacher is built like a bodybuilder.
The nutty fortune-teller is always telling people's fortunes, but somehow he never gets them right.
Lu the Great Immortal looks every bit the part. How could he possibly spend his whole life alone, as the frogs in the little pond beyond the village keep croaking?
Oh, the fortune-teller also said that the Immortal Lord would be tied for life to the most valuable piece of scrap metal in his whole household, and any romance he found would be beaten to death by that thing with a single blow.
But it's clearly just a sword.
You ask who I am?
Ha, this strange village is home to a bunch of strange people, and I'm one of them.
I'll tell you a secret. Shh, there are two people inside my body.
PS:
1. The opening is told from the perspective of a supporting character to introduce the plot and the protagonist. The POV will switch over fairly quickly.
2. The protagonists are Lu Yi (Lu Yunqing) and Qingyun: a cold, taciturn, somewhat calculating Daoist Lord, and a great demon sword spirit who is unexpectedly innocent in certain ways.
3. There isn't much romance. If it's a travelogue, there may be a little experiment with diary-style writing. If it's a story, it'll probably take the form of episodic tales.
4. I'm scrapping and rewriting the entire original outline. The new update schedule is uncertain, and all the original chapters are locked. I'm putting up the blurb first. If you're interested, you can treat it as an upcoming story and add it to your collection.
