Jiojio's Carefree Cat Life

I had decided not to get another cat in our new home, since my parents and my in-laws were already looking after five little darlings each for me.

I never imagined that less than half a year after we moved in, fate would bring one along.

I still remember the day Jiojio came home. I held it and asked Mr. Zuo, "Look, do you think someone will want this kitten?"

I was wondering whether the teachers at my school would choose between pedigree cats and strays based on looks or breed.

Mr. Zuo's eyes lit up. "I do! Aaaah, those little white paws!"

Me: "I wasn't asking you. The cat's supposed to go to someone else!"

Mr. Zuo tilted his head. "Then why not give it to me? It's settled. We'll call it Little White Paw!"

That name was absolutely dreadful.

I couldn't help arguing back: "Then I might as well call it Jiojio!"

My husband was overjoyed. "Great, then it's settled!"

Me: ???

Had I just been tricked?

And that's how Jiojio stayed...

One day, a friend asked me why all the cats I'd had for more than ten years had vanished without a trace.

My heart clenched.

That's right. They had been with me for their whole lives, but I had spent so little time with them.

And as time passed, even though I could remember every cat, the friends around me were forgetting them.

So I had to keep reminding my friends about my Gulu, Afu, Qibao, Diandian...

Forget it. From now on, I'd better write everything down.

1. The whole story is free. I hope I can keep writing until Jio gets old.

2. Updates whenever I can. This silly author still has to write like crazy to earn money to support Jio.
