One not-so-fair afternoon, Nan Jin unexpectedly gained a disciple. As the chief disciple of the Yunqi Sect, of course he wasn't about to take in a stranger so easily.
So the next day, Nan Jin took his new disciple out for a stroll. Then a city-destroying massacre lifted the curtain on secrets the martial world had gone to great lengths to conceal... Perhaps it was then that the two began a life in which one was willing to act and the other was willing to watch. On the surface, they seemed to get along, but a storm was brewing in one heart while the other was in anguish. “Maybe if you'd kept acting back then, I could have accepted it.”
“I...”
“You stopped acting. Why? Why didn't you keep it up, hmm?”
Nan Jin had known for a long time that Luo Wumian was indifferent and dismissive toward him. He simply kept yearning for things to change.
Luo Wumian gradually came to care for Nan Jin, but other people always obscured those feelings. He deceived himself step by step until he was beyond redemption.
A seemingly gentle gong who actually trusts no one, paired with a seemingly sharp-tongued shou who is easily moved despite trusting no one. 1v1, no power progression, with angst, but not enough to make your heart ache too badly.
Please note: many clues and revelations won't appear right away. Keep reading and they'll come.
The word count may be a little unstable in the early chapters. Once the story is complete, I'll polish it, but the plot won't change, so don't worry.
There are some flashbacks in the story, but not many, and they aren't jumbled.
Updates are regular, but not daily. During summer and winter break, it's basically updated daily. You can treat it as a little weekly read for your downtime (though, well, it's not that ordinary). I don't expect tips or anything, especially since updates are slow...
P.S. 1. The gong and shou appear in Chapter 1, and their true faces are revealed within the first five chapters. 2. Updates every one or two days.
3. They don't fall in love at first sight.
Theme: Learning to grow stronger, one step at a time, even after life's upheavals.
Great, great, come on!
