Ming Yinglie

Chapters 1-5 are the old version's prologue. They've been locked because they differ from the main story, so you can start directly from Chapter 6.

The story officially begins during the Zhengtong era of the Ming Emperor Yingzong, several years before the Tumu Crisis. It isn't a golden age, but it can still be called peaceful and prosperous.

Zhou Nan, a boy from a poor scholar's family at the foot of Mount Yuelu, only learns of the storms and turmoil beneath this peaceful facade after stepping into the world.

In the cases so far, Zhou Nan has been leveling up while constantly trying to save money. The supporting characters and NPCs are often busy earning money too, so the one-line summary goes like this: A poor boy's journey to level up and save money in the Ming Dynasty.

If things change later, I'll revise this. Most likely, though, this will remain the main storyline.

This series is expected to be quite long, and I write slowly. To avoid letting too much time pass and losing the thread, I'll post the sections I've already finished first.

(1) "The White-Robed Guanyin" (completed): The dowager madam of the Changsha prefect donated a White-Robed Guanyin statue made of fine jade to Lushan Temple. The White Lotus Sect planned to set fire to the Guanyin Pavilion, create chaos, and incite a rebellion. But the sect member ordered to start the fire wanted to make some money for himself and changed the plan without permission. By a twist of fate, Zhou Nan solved the case and earned a reward, as well as a letter of recommendation for admission to Yuelu Academy.

(2) "Jade Green Square Bamboo" (completed).

(3) "The Heavenly King Who Grants Children" (completed).
