Everything has its own nature. Water is bland, while salt gives flavor. Water mixed with water is still water; salt mixed with salt is still salt. Sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, and salty: the five flavors blend together, coexist, and give rise to endless variety.
This is true of things, of events, and of people.
