The Underworld's Impermanence God Goes Viral in Showbiz

Synopsis:

Xu Zhiyu was once a top-tier star in the entertainment industry. Then he offended someone, his career was sabotaged, and his boyfriend was stolen from him. To top it all off, on the very night he terminated his contract, he was in a taxi heading home when a massive truck veered into the city center and hit them. He died on the spot, impaled through the chest by a steel pipe, dead as dead could be.

Fortunately, he was born with a Ziwei constitution, and the Underworld had already reserved him a position as a registered ghost officer. All he had to do was die, receive his appointment, and work for the Underworld as a ghost.

Who could have guessed that his luck would suddenly shoot up? Fortuitously encountering a glimmer of hope from the Heavenly Dao, Xu Zhiyu bound himself to a Merit App and decisively traded his thread of emotion for a revived secret identity.

From then on, the aloof, cool guy could confidently fly solo.

Seven years later, the Underworld sent him a transfer order. Xu Zhiyu planned to return home and take up work as a Wuchang. Then, on the plane, he ran into his ex-boyfriend, Qin Haijiao, who was having an episode and seemed beyond saving.

The shock of Xu Zhiyu's death had been too much for him, and he had successfully turned himself into a mental patient.

Xu Zhiyu: "..."

[This is a delightfully sweet little story (not!) about an entertainment-industry model couple who, after a misunderstanding leaves one 'dead' and the other injured, completely lose their minds, only to meet again in a psychiatric hospital.]

At first, he didn't take it seriously. Xu Zhiyu wasn't moved in the slightest by Qin Haijiao's madness. He just found him annoying.

The receiver: As cold as he is, he has no thread of emotion!

The pursuer: I have plenty of emotional threads. I'll give you one. Love me.

Xu Zhiyu didn't care for love, until Qin Haijiao placed the dream that had been forcibly cut short back before him.

The second year after his boyfriend died, Qin Haijiao kept telling everyone that he had married young, in keeping with their promise to marry as soon as they graduated.

Seven years later, now an award-winning actor, Qin Haijiao thought he had moved on from the shadow of his lover's death in a car accident and that his condition was stable. Then he saw someone on the plane who looked like his lover, alive and well, and Actor Qin had yet another episode.

Content warnings: 1. The misunderstanding between the two won't be cleared up right away. There will be plenty of emotional push and pull. The receiver is cold, unfeeling, and has had his thread of emotion taken away. The pursuer seems aloof on the outside but cries on the inside, and can only keep charging ahead, begging for the cold receiver's love.

2. Yes, they have a child. The child was born before the story begins, and there won't be any childbirth in the main story.

3. Obviously, the pursuer isn't a 'scumbag' in the usual sense. He's actually deeply devoted, but his methods are really stupid! Feel free to curse him out!

Theme: A love that remains true, loving you even across the divide between life and death.
