A story of love after an arranged marriage. Yan Yiyue, a rich young heir, takes a liking to Nian Muqing, a mild-mannered webcomic artist. He thinks she is obedient and sweet, and would make a perfect wife.
He orders Nian Muqing to marry him in a tone that leaves no room for argument, yet looks down on her and gives her a hard time at every turn. Later, he discovers that she shines just as brightly as he does. One rival after another appears, making him grow anxious until he immediately announces to the world that she is his wife and no one is allowed to have any ideas about her.
She agrees to marry him to put her mother's mind at ease. Even though the man she faces is the kind of rich, handsome bachelor everyone longs for, she only hopes they will treat each other with polite respect. Later, when Yan Yiyue launches one passionate pursuit after another, her first reaction is to steer clear of him.
A few misunderstandings arise between them early in their marriage, leaving Nian Muqing unable to let go of her hurt. Fortunately, Yan Yiyue has at least a little emotional intelligence and eventually manages to make his wife happy again.
