Dazai Osamu's White Moonlight

In the days after Oda Sakunosuke died, Dazai Osamu would sometimes think wryly that if a god who could bring the dead back to life showed up, he might as well believe one more time.

But he waited and waited, and no god ever appeared.

Then he thought: If a god ever does show up, I'll kill that Oda Sakunosuke. After all, would an Oda Sakunosuke like this still be his Oda Sakunosuke?

Yet when that day finally came, Dazai Osamu couldn't bring himself to do it. That person had Oda Sakunosuke's face, habits, and memories.

The only thing she didn't remember was Dazai Osamu.

Her name was Oda Tsuruyoshi.

1. In this story, Oda Sakunosuke was a girl all along.

2. Tsuruyoshi is Oda Sakunosuke.
