Born in the Republic of China

It is the fourteenth year of the Republic of China.

There are no tales of love and hatred in sprawling mansions, no tangled romances between young masters and ladies.

There is no glittering nightlife on the Shanghai Bund, nor the seductive music of the Paramount Ballroom.

After transmigrating, all Lin Ruojing sees are villages strewn with starving corpses and bones left scattered, with no one to bury them.

She wants to survive. She wants to study. She wants to go to Yan'an!

This is Lin Ruojing's struggle.

It is also the story of an ordinary person's struggle to survive in the Republic of China.

Theme: A story of striving to save oneself during the Republic of China.
