Daring to Throw Your Weight Around

Chen Que, the frontier army's military governor, lost his wife Leng Ningshuang at an early age, leaving behind their three-year-old son, Chen Tingwei. His second wife, Tao Yingluo, appeared to dote on Chen Tingwei, indulging his every whim, but secretly led him astray. By the age of eleven, Chen Tingwei had become domineering and arrogant, and was already something of a local tyrant. When Luo Ningfeng, Leng Ningshuang's adopted son, returned after completing his studies, he found that the adorable little brother he'd left behind had become a spoiled brat, abandoned by his adoptive father. Determined to raise him into a success at any cost, Luo Ningfeng took on the challenge of outsmarting and outmaneuvering the troublesome boy. Chen Tingwei's exploits included provoking a prince and leaving home to avoid the consequences, entering a military training ground alone and winning the top prize, and leading soldiers in a daring relief mission to a besieged city. Through these experiences, he established his influence and laid the foundations for his future. Amid the tumultuous chaos of the Northern and Southern Dynasties, with his older brother's wholehearted support, he ultimately built a great empire.
