The Empress Just Wants to Eat, Drink, and Wait to Die

A queen who just wants to coast through life, but is forced to work like a dog every day VS an emperor who asks, "How can that damned woman stop liking me?" Ye Qing woke up one day to discover she had become the neglected empress in a book. She wanted to throw her head back and laugh three times. According to the plot, all she had to do was eat and drink her fill every day, munching on melon seeds while watching the male and female leads and the emperor's tragic lovesick sidekick go through their angsty romance, then hang on until the happy ending in the final chapter. But... After Ye Qing took over, she realized the plot had gone off the rails! Why was her brother's official rank skyrocketing? At this rate, their whole family would be wiped out for arousing suspicion! Emperor, shouldn't you be visiting your one true love? Why are you squeezing into her palace every day? She can already see the jealous looks from the consorts, ready to fight her in the palace! Fortunately, the empress dowager still likes her. "My dear, Mother will teach you the secrets of palace intrigue!" Ye Qing wanted to cry. Mother, can't we go back to happily discussing Buddhist scriptures? The emperor, who had been apart from her for less than fifteen minutes, came looking for her. He pulled her into his arms and said, "She's my woman. I'll protect her myself!" Ye Qing: "...No, I don't need you to protect me. I just want to coast through life!
